INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL CONFERENCE ON

SUSTAINABLE BIOTECHNOLOGY (ICSB)

Sustainable development has become an indispensable thing in the current world, as it constitutes a strong support factor for the process of facing crises and the need for conserving the available natural resources from being over-exploited. Sustainable development is an interrelated process of sustainable activities according to an integrated approach based on justice and participation. The transformations that happened during the last few decades due to significant evolution of research in biotechnology has now reached a stage of explaining living processes in molecular level besides extending the territory of research from human body interaction to involvement of pharmaceutical industries and disease prospects. This conference will explore the avenues of sustainable development through Biotechnology. We invite the scientific community to be a part of this conference. This two-day event will feature discussion by experts and researchers in the field of Biotechnology and sustainable development, in the form of keynote sessions, oral and poster presentations in the below-mentioned (but not restricted to) sub-themes:

KRISTU JAYANTI COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS)

Kristu Jayanti College, founded in 1999, is managed by "BODHI NIKETAN TRUST", formed by the members of St. Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). The College is affiliated to Bengaluru North University and is re-accredited with grade 'A' in 2015 by NAAC in the Second Cycle of Accreditation. The College is recognized by UGC under the category 2(f) & 12(B). The College was accorded Autonomous Status from 2013 by the University Grants Commission, Government of Karnataka & the Bangalore University. For its contribution in the field of Education, Kristu Jayanti College was recently given the Heroes of Bengaluru award. In the India Today MDRA survey 2020, Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru is awarded as the Best Emerging College of the Century at National Level and the college is ranked 4 Best BCA, 11 Best MSW, 18 Best Arts, 19 Best Commerce, 19 Best BBA and 25 Best Science College in India. The College also ranked 2 Best in BCA & MSW, 3 best in Commerce & Arts, 4 Best in Science and 5 best in BBA among the colleges in Bengaluru. DEPARTMENT OF LIFE SCIENCES

The Department was started in the year 2002, with the aim of grooming and preparing aspirants in Life Sciences for research and career. The Department offers B.Sc. programmes in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Botany, Forensic Science and M.Sc. programmes in Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry. The Department is also a Research Centre in Biotechnology of Bangalore University. The Department of Life Sciences was sanctioned support under the strengthening component of the DBT star college scheme by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India during April 2020.With the commitment of the faculty members to educational excellence and state of the art laboratories, the Department strives to serve the students in enhancing their scientific temperament and enabling them to inculcate scholarly knowledge in various emerging fields of Life Sciences.
